Abstract Introduction: with the COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing policy, almost 9 million workers had their professional activities transferred to the home environment, called “remote work,” “home office,” or “telework.” This context worked as a laboratory in which companies could experiment with teleworking. Objective: to analyze the unprecedented telework growth and the teleworkers' profile, highlighting the impacts and consequences for the workers' health. Methods: analysis of relevant bibliography, exploration of secondary data from empirical research on objective and subjective teleworking conditions, publications in the media about telework in the pandemic and post-pandemic context, and analysis of remote work ads. Results: due to the way remote work occurred during the pandemic, in addition to its consequences for health, and living and working conditions, new challenges were raised for the working class. Among them: how to ensure adequate environmental and ergonomic working conditions and how to guarantee the limit of working hours, and the delimitation of working time, in view of the tendency for telework to be maintained in the post-pandemic period. Conclusion: the analysis revealed impacts on workers’ health that bring new challenges to the working class. Such impacts, among other reasons, are due to extended working hours, ergonomic conditions at home, and pressure to meet goals.

Resumo Introdução: com a pandemia de COVID-19 e a política de distanciamento social, quase 9 milhões de trabalhadores tiveram suas atividades profissionais transferidas para o ambiente doméstico. Esse contexto funcionou como um laboratório no qual as empresas puderam experimentar a modalidade do teletrabalho. Objetivo: analisar o crescimento do teletrabalho e o perfil dos teletrabalhadores, destacando impactos e consequências para saúde dos profissionais. Métodos: análise de bibliografia pertinente, exploração de dados secundários de pesquisas sobre condições objetivas e subjetivas do teletrabalho, publicações sobre o teletrabalho no contexto da pandemia e pós-pandemia, análise de anúncios de trabalho remoto. Resultados: em razão da forma como ocorreu durante a pandemia, o trabalho remoto, além das consequências para saúde e condições de vida e trabalho, acarretou novos desafios para a classe trabalhadora. Entre eles, destacam-se: como assegurar condições ambientais e ergonômicas adequadas ao trabalho e como garantir o limite de jornada, a delimitação do tempo de trabalho, tendo em vista a tendência de sua manutenção para o período pós-pandemia. Conclusão: a análise revelou impactos sobre a saúde dos trabalhadores, com novos desafios para a classe trabalhadora. Tais impactos, entre outras razões, se devem a jornadas ampliadas, condições ergonômicas no domicílio e pressões para cumprimento de metas.

Na contramão das teses da sociedade pós-industrial, o artigo desenvolve o argumento de que as plataformas digitais sintetizam contemporaneamente a radicalização e o espraiamento da lógica produtiva industrial. Ao analisar o capitalismo de plataforma e os mecanismos de externalização da produção, considera que as plataformas são apenas a ponta do iceberg e a comprovação empírica do desenvolvimento da lógica industrial, da produção de mercadorias (produto ou serviço, material e/ou imaterial, tangível ou intangível). Trata-se, assim, de um capitalismo industrial de plataforma. Com esse processo em curso, observa-se a tendência de espraiamento da plataformização do trabalho e suas formas de exploração de trabalho, de relações de trabalho destituídas de direitos que, por sua vez, encontram resistência nas lutas dos trabalhadores e trabalhadoras que desnudam a faceta perversa do trabalho plataformizado.

Contrary to the theses of post-industrial society, this article argues that digital platforms simultaneously synthesize the radicalization and spread of industrial productive logic. When analyzing platform capitalism and its mechanisms of product externalization, the text considers platforms as just the tip of the iceberg and empirical evidence of the development of industrial logic, of the production of goods (product or service, material and/or immaterial, tangible or intangible). It is, therefore, an industrial platform capitalism . As an ongoing process, it tends to spread labor platformization and its conditions of labor exploitation, disenfranchised labor relations that, in turn, face resistance by the workers, laying bare the perversion of platformized work.

Contrairement aux thèses de la société post-industrielle, cet article soutien que les plateformes numériques synthétisent à la fois la radicalisation et la diffusion de la logique productive industrielle. En analysant le capitalisme de plateforme et ses mécanismes d’externalisation des produits, le text considère que les plateformes ne sont que la partie émergée de l’iceberg et la preuve empirique du développement de la logique industrielle, de la production de biens (produit ou service, matériel et/ou immatériel, tangible ou intangible). Il s’agit donc d’un capitalisme industriel de plateforme. en tant que processus continu, il tend à étendre le travail de plateforme et ses formes d’exploitation du travail, des relations de travail dépourvues de droits qui, à leur tour, sont combattues par les ouvrières qui exposent la facette perverse du travail de plateforme.

Resumo Este artigo tem por escopo discutir o fenômeno do teletrabalho, que foi impulsionado em razão do contexto da pandemia do Covid-19 em 2020. Destaca-se a nova narrativa do capital, que, ao tempo que exalta seus benefícios, tende a ocultar os riscos, bem como as possibilidades de reformulação dos ganhos empresariais na exploração do trabalho humano. Para tanto, revisa-se o novo cenário do trabalho, a partir do contexto da denominada “modernização” das relações laborais, considerando os processos de intensificação das jornadas, de apropriação do espaço privado da residência dos trabalhadores, de compatibilização entre trabalho produtivo e reprodutivo, sobretudo por mulheres, de isolamento em relação aos coletivos de trabalho e suas articulações políticas, bem como de sofrimento e adoecimento psíquico. A partir de bibliografia pertinente e da análise de dados secundários sobre o teletrabalho na atualidade, é problematizada a regulação incidente sobre esses trabalhadores como elemento conformador do fenômeno.

Abstract This article aims to discuss the phenomenon of teleworking, which was driven by the context of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. It is noteworthy that the new narrative of capital, which, while extolling its benefits, tends to hide the risks, as well as the possibilities for reformulating business gains in the exploitation of human labor. To this end, the new work scenario is reviewed, based on the context of the so-called “modernization” of labor relations, considering the processes of intensifying working hours, appropriating the private space of workers' homes, making work and reproductive tasks compatible, especially by women, of isolation in relation to work groups and their political articulations, as well as psychological suffering and illness. Based on the pertinent bibliography and the analysis of secondary data on teleworking today, the regulation of these workers is problematized as a shaping element of the phenomenon.

resumo A partir da análise de dados do IBGE sobre o mercado de trabalho no perío- do pré e durante pandemia, além de literatura pertinente, este artigo contempla três dimensões: (i) traça um breve panorama sobre o contexto de crise econômica e do emprego e das mudanças que redundaram na reforma laboral de 2017 e os indicadores do mercado de trabalho no período que antecede a crise sanitária; (ii) os indicadores do mercado de trabalho no contexto da pandemia, que sinalizam os impactos sobre o trabalho; (iii) os desafios impostos ao sindicalismo decorrentes da intensificação da agenda neoliberal dos últimos quatro anos. Demonstra que a crise sanitária causada pelo Sars- CoV-2 potencializou a fragilidade do mercado de trabalho que vinha em franco processo de deterioração nos últimos quatro anos no Brasil. Atingiu, de forma contundente e de diversas maneiras toda a classe trabalhadora dos diversos setores econômicos e de forma desigual nas diferentes regiões do Brasil.

abstract Based on the analysis of IBGE data on the labor market before and during the pandemic, as well as on relevant literature, this article contemplates three dimensions: (i) a brief overview of the context of the economic and employment crisis, of the changes that resulted in the 2017 labor reform and of labor market indicators in the period prior to the health crisis; (ii) labor market indicators in the context of the pandemic, which signal impacts on labor; (iii) the challenges imposed on labor unions resulting from the intensification of the neoliberal agenda of the last four years. The article shows that the health crisis caused by Sars-CoV-2 has increased the fragility of the labor market, which had already been in a process of deterioration in the last four years in Brazil. It hit the working class of various economic sectors in striking and diverse manners, and unevenly in the different regions of Brazil.

Este artigo analisa as mudanças no trabalho decorrentes das novas tecnologias informacionais e as ocupações oriundas de sua utilização. Entre as ocupações analisadas encontram-se os desenvolvedores de software, os montadores de hardware nas fábricas de equipamentos informáticos, os atendentes de callcenter em serviços terceirizados, como também o trabalho em plataformas digitais. Buscamos responder, ainda que preliminarmente, em que medida a reforma trabalhista estabelecida em 2017 no Brasil favorece a fragmentação ainda maior do trabalho, liberando a terceirização de forma geral, que tem na chamada “uberização” seu formato mais extremo. Concluímos que a precariedade é constituinte desses “novos” trabalhos que surgem num contexto de flexibilidade e inovações tecnológicas, na qual a internet pontifica, mesclando tempo e espaço, embaralhando questões constituintes do próprio valor trabalho, do tempo e espaço, do material e imaterial e do próprio conceito de empresa. Uma das facetas mais contraditórias no chamado capitalismo flexível consiste na transferência do risco da atividade econômica para os trabalhadores.

This article aims to analyze the changes in Labor in terms of it’s flexibility of relations, technology and emerging occupations from new Technologies of Information and Communication (TICs). Among the analyzed activities are the Software developers, hardware assemblers in computing factories, outsourced call center attendants and digital platform workers. One of the issues analyzed, although preliminarily, is in wich measure the change in Labor Law, ocurred in 2017 in Brazil, favored the “Uberization”of Work. By analizing these activities and it’s kinds of contract, we concluded that precariousness is an element of the aforementioned occupations, which were originated in a context of flexibility and technological innovations, made possible by the Internet, mixing time and space, shuffling issues that are part of the own value of labor, material and imaterial and in the own concept of Enterprise. One of the most contradictory facets of the so called flexible capitalisme consists in the transfer of risk of economic activity to the workers.

Cet article cherche à analyser les changements dans le monde du travail surtout à propos de la flexibilisation des relations et les surgissement et des nouveaux postes de travail parvenus des “Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication (TIC)”. Parmi les occupations analysées se trouvent les développeurs de software, les assembleurs de matériel de hardware, les télévendeurs et les travailleurs des plate-formes númeriques. On a pu analyser, de façon preliminaire, le changement du réglement au travail au Brésil, que a eu lieu en 2017, bien que leur influence sur “l´uberisation” du travail dans ce pays. Après avoir étudié les tâches et les contrats du travail, on est arrivés à la conclusion selon laquelle les précarités au travail sont la réalitée des nouveaux métiers, crées par l´espace de l´innovation tecnologique, où l´on mélange les notions de temps et l’espace, de matériel et l´immatériel, de la valeur du travail et de l´ entreprise. Finalment, on envisage l´une des plus sevères contradictions du “capitalisme fléxible”, à savoir, le dêpot des risques de l’activité économique sur les travailleurs.

Resumo Este artigo analisa a reativação da indústria naval no Brasil na década de 2000 como resultado da política neodesenvolvimentista dos governos Lula e Dilma e que repercutiu imediatamente na criação de empregos e postos de trabalho no setor. A partir da contextualização histórica dessa indústria no Brasil, com os dados da Relação Anual de Informações Sociais (Rais), no Cadastro Geral de Empregados e Desempregados (Caged), do Sindicato Patronal (Sinval), bem como de entrevista com o sindicato dos trabalhadores (Stimmmerg) sobre emprego e sua dinâmica de contratação recente, constatamos que, embora essa atividade seja sazonal, caracterizada pela contratação por projetos (encomendas), a crise do emprego no período de 2015 encontra explicação no quadro político e jurídico que se instalou no Brasil.

Abstract This article analyzes the reactivation of the shipbuilding industry in Brazil in the 2000s as a result of the neo-developmentalist policy of the governments of Lula and Dilma, which immediately reflected in the creation of jobs in the sector. Based on the historical contextualization of this industry in Brazil, with the use of data provided by the Annual Social Information List (Rais), by the General Roll of Employed and Unemployed Individuals (Caged), by the employers’ association (SinavaL), and by an interview with the workers’ union (Stimmmerg) on employment and its recent hiring dynamics, we have found that, although this activity is seasonal, characterized by the hiring of workers for specific projects, the employment crisis in 2015 can be explained by the political and legal scenario that has settled in Brazil.

O presente trabalho analisa a flexibilidade das formas de contratação da força de trabalho dos desenvolvedores de software de Curitiba e Região e resulta de pesquisa empírica realizada, na qual entrevistamos trabalhadores e empresários do setor. Encontramos a prevalência da contratação de trabalhadores como pessoa jurídica, como “CLT Flex” ou através de cooperativa de trabalho. Além de uma clara tentativa das empresas de afastar os encargos trabalhistas que incidem sobre a relação de trabalho, a proliferação de formas flexíveis de contratação parece estar relacionada, nessa indústria, à forma como se estrutura o processo produtivo, organizado por projetos, e ao discurso justificador das atuais formas de gestão, que têm em seu cerne a noção de empregabilidade. Essas constatações indicam que o trabalho que envolve alta tecnologia também se organiza como um trabalho assalariado tipicamente capitalista, cuja lógica não parece diferir daquela que rege as relações entre capital e trabalho em outros segmentos da economia.

This study analyzes the flexibility of the forms of employing the workforce of the software developers from the city of Curitiba and its surroundings. It is the result of an empirical research in which we interviewed workers and employers from that sector. We found a predominance of workers being contracted as a legal entity, as “CLT Flex” or through a worker co-operative. Beyond a clear attempt by the companies of getting rid of charges on worker relations, the proliferation of flexible forms of contracting seems related, in that sector, to the way the productive process is structured, organized in projects, and to the discourse that justifies the current forms of management, which have in its center the notion of employability. These findings indicate that labor involving high technology is also organized as a typically capitalist wage work, whose logic does not differ from the one that governs the relations between capital and work in other sectors of the economy.

Cette recherche analyse la flexibilité des contrats d’embauche de la force de travail de ceux qui fabriquent des logiciels à Curitiba et dans sa région. C’est l’aboutissement d’une recherche empirique faite grâce à des interviews réalisées auprès des travailleurs et des entrepreneurs de ce secteur. Il en ressort une nette préférence pour des contrats avec ceux qui sont enregistrés comme personnes juridiques, comme “CLT Flex” ou organisés en coopératives de travail. Au-delà du fait que les entreprises essaient très clairement de ne pas avoir à payer les charges sociales obligatoires dans une relation de travail, la prolifération de de contrats en termes de plus en plus flexibles semble être directement liée, dans ce secteur, à la manière dont est structuré le processus productif, organisé par projets, et à un discours justificatif des formes de gestion actuelles au coeur duquel se trouve la notion d’emploi. Ces contrats démontrent que le travail, qui suppose un haut niveau de technologie, est aussi organisé comme un travail salarié typiquement capitaliste et dont la logique ne semble pas être différente de celle qui règle les relations entre le capital et le travail dans d’autres segments de l’économie.
